Because there is no single answer to the wide variety of issues that can occur in a work place setting, creating a systematic and positive approach to assist persons with significant disabilities is a critical Employment Specialist competency. Each person we support in the delivery of integrated, competitive employment services needs to be able to maximize their job performance and social integration in the workplace. As you create your teaching strategies, it is good to have a variety of tools or possible accommodations to use in work place situations. This two-part webinar presents proven support strategies for persons with autism and intellectual developmental disabilities to assist in acquisition, training and retention of their job.
