Being Proactive with Business Partners

Presenter: Darla Wilkerson

Darla Wilkerson is a business owner and advocate. She has worked with youth and adults with disabilities for over 30 years. Darla started her own business, The CSI Network, in 2010 providing training and consultation on employment and business partnerships. Her current work includes working with the Greater Kansas City Business Leadership Network where her efforts are focused on assisting companies to increase their practices on disability inclusion in the workplace. Darla is also involved in youth projects through Missouri’s Parent Training and Information Center and provides training to youth and school districts related to transition from school to adult life.  Darla also provides online trainings for employment providers and vocational rehabilitation counselors on a variety of topics, including, navigating social security benefits, discovery & exploration, job searching, workplace supports, and more.

Darla currently volunteers her time by serving as the Vice President and Curriculum Review Coordinator for the board of directors of the National Association for Community Rehabilitation Educators, (ACRE).

Darla has a Master’s in Public Administration/Nonprofit.
