This course will offer suggestion and practices that have been known to assist with developing a resume for an individual living with a disability, whom may not have an extensive work history. The course will cover the best type of resume to use, as well as ways to address gaps in employment. The course will also describe the difference between a chronological resume and functional resume.
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to

- Design a resume to best meet the type of employment applying for.

Presenter: Meka McNeal
Meka McNeal is the statewide Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Consultant and Trainer for the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Evidence-Based Practice Center. Her experience in supported employment (SE) began in 1998 as an Employment Specialist for Briggs & Assoc. in Roswell, GA. Later she became the SE Program Coordinator for the GUIDE Independence Program in New Carrollton, MD. Ms. McNeal managed that program until 2004, at which time she accepted her current position. Ms. McNeal trains, provides technical assistance and monitors Supported Employment Programs in Maryland on IPS service approach, as well as provides training and technical assistance to other states around the country that are moving forward with supported employment. Ms. McNeal also consulted and provided technical assistance to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in Baltimore and West Virginia, to increase the job development skills of the Homeless Veterans Supported Employment Program (HVSEP) Employment Specialists.
