The key to choosing a vocational goal is good information. This interactive session will focus on the role of the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor in employment selection. We will demonstrate how to use the six guiding principles of the CRCC ethical code to evaluate the decision making process and ensure balance of informed choice and financial responsibility guidelines. Examples will be provided, as well as solicited from the audience.
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to
- Describe the key elements involved in selecting a vocational goal.
- Examine the role of the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor in the goal selection process.
- Identify strategies to ensure application of the ethical principles when supporting a participant’s decision making process.
Presenter: Freda MacArthur-Lee
Freda MacArthur-Lee, M.S., CRC, is a Senior Trainer for UNTWISE. Freda facilitates participation of the online Job Placement course for employment credentials for Texas Employment Service Providers. Prior to her entry in the rehabilitation field, Freda served 20 years in the Aerospace Medicine Field in the United States Airforce. She worked in clinics, hospitals, and research facilities, where her career field supported the flying and special operational duties of the Air Force. Upon retirement from the Air Force, Freda earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Rehabilitation Counseling from UNT. She has experience as an Employment Specialist, where she assisted individuals to achieve their employment goals.
