Vocational Strategies for Specific Disabilities: Employment of People with Epilepsy

Pre-recorded webinar: Epilepsy, also known as seizure disorder is a neurological condition which affects the nervous system.  According to the Epilepsy Foundation, approximately 150 thousand people are diagnosed with epilepsy in the US each year.  Although studies have shown that employment is a significant determinant of quality of life for people with epilepsy, those with the condition have a disproportionately higher rate of unemployment and underemployment than the general population.  Given the importance of gainful employment in every individual’s life, this presentation will discuss vocational rehabilitation of people with epilepsy, in particular, how to best help them effectively participate in the world of work.
