Applications for our Summer Programs open on March 3, 2025. TWS-VR funds all of the programs listed below, so the earlier you/your student can get connected the better. You can also complete the online VR Self-Referral by clicking on the following link: VR Self-Referral.

Live & Learn
The UNT WISE Live & Learn Summer Program is a two (2) week summer program for young adults with disabilities, ages 14-22, interested in vocational planning for their future.

Whether their interests lie in entry-level, skilled or professional occupations, this program opens the door to the realities of the adult world of work.

The Live and Learn Summer Program focuses on teaching participants independent living skills, social and recreational skills, and pre-vocational/vocational skills.
College WISE
The UNT WISE College WISE program is a one (1) week summer program for young adults with disabilities, ages 14-22, interested in pursuing a post-secondary education.

An overview of the expectations and demands of community college and a four-year university are explored.

Participants engage in a variety of activities aimed at demonstrating skills necessary to be successful in higher education, including independent living, social, and recreational skills.
STEM Career Explorers
The UNT WISE STEM Career Explorers Summer Program is a one (1) week summer programs for young adults with disabilities, ages 14-22, interested in pursuing a career within the STEM fields.

These day programs are designed for students with little to no previous exposure to the STEM fields but who have an interest in exploration within these STEM fields.

Participants engage in a variety of hands on learning to actively explore various careers within the STEM fields.
VIRTUAL Pre-ETS Transition Program
The UNT WISE Virtual Transition Program assists young adults with disabilities, ages 14-22, to develop vocational skills, independent living skills, and social & recreation skills through an intensive virtual training program.

The Virtual Transition Program is a six (6) week program for participants interested in vocational planning and/or post-secondary education for their future.

This program opens the door to the realities of the adult world of work and living, all in an online learning environment.
